For Dentsply Sirona Primescan users, exciting times are coming. Exciting for the lab as well.
DS Core has many amazing features, however, we will touch on the most relevant to the dental lab, the dentist, and your patient.
First, DS Core is a Google-based cloud system. That means, when you go to choose a search engine, choose Google.
Once you have created an account (ask your Dentsply Rep about how to do that), you log into your account, and there are many things you can do. Relevant to your lab, you will need to connect with us. We will be sending an email to you with the link that connects your dental account to our dental labs, both Schell Classic Dental Lab and nutooth 24-hour service.
To connect with dental labs:
- Open VIEW AND EDIT PRACTICE INFORMATION.
- Choose PREFERRED LABS.
- On the upper right, choose ADD PREFERRED LAB.
- Search for your lab.
- Choose ADD.
If you are new to Schell Dental Ceramics, you would search for our lab name.
To connect your scanner to Schell / nutooth, we will forward the link to all of our customers via email.
When you have completed a scan and want to send to Schell or nutooth, choose any other files you would like to add to the case, such as .jpg, CBCT, x-rays, etc.
If there are photos on your mobile phone, there is an option in the prescription to add from Mobile Device. It prompts a QR code to launch, which connects the prescription to your phone. Choose ORDER, fill in the prescription as usual, choose the lab, and order.
Then, if you would like, you can communicate with the lab and add notes following the send.
The lab can then send the dentist designs and STL files via DS Core for approvals or even production at the dentist’s office.
Sharing smile design files, intraoral scans, and notes can also easily be shared with the patient via email in one click. They can move the scans around in 3D and discuss their treatment options with their spouse or parents.
There is a new scanner launched, the wireless Primescan 2. All a dentist needs is an internet connection and a screen. Computer specs do not matter as the scanner scans directly to the cloud. Exciting!
