We provide a highly aesthetic porcelain finish with all layered restorations to provide a natural look. This is done by creating a cutback restoration in either e.max or zirconia, and then layering porcelain on to the restoration to provide translucency and colour. e.Max has exceptional aesthetic value combined with strength. It can be used for metal-free layered crowns, pressed monolithic crowns, veneers, and inlay/onlays. Layered zirconia provides exceptional strength and an aesthetic finish.
Monolithic restorations are completely milled out of either e.Max or zirconia with no cutback for layering of porcelain. e.Max monolithic is a high translucency material that is incredibly strong and can be used without a layered porcelain veneer due to its improved aesthetic characteristics. Monolithic zirconia offers the highest tensile strength. They can also be fixed using the clinician’s preferred conventional cement. e.Maxcan be etched therefore bonded and Zirconia cannot be etched.
These restorations are custom stained to provide a natural colour and translucency.
Aesthetic zirconia offers the properties of both layered and monolithic materials, providing the strength of zirconia with a natural finish. High translucency zirconia can be used in monolithic or layered restorations and is good for anterior or posterior placements.
A standard restorative technique that is still commonly used, PFMs provide a long-term, functional result in situations where there is sufficient room to layer ceramic that will withstand occlusal stress.
There are several types of alloy used in PFMs that vary in price and performance based on the percentage of precious metal used.
Gold crowns are commonly made using High Noble Alloy. There are other options available depending on the amount of precious metal. A highly malleable alloy, gold enables a highly accurate crown-to-tooth fit. The durability is on par with enamel, which means opposing teeth will not be worn down by the crown. The superior strength makes gold alloy a popular choice for posterior placements.
Porcelain veneers are a conservative option to maintaining tooth structure. Lithium Disilicate is the material of choice. They must be etched and bonded.
