3Shape Trios is an excellent scanner, however, the prescription can be somewhat complex.
Following a recent scanner training with a dental team, I was asked to review this workflow and thought I would also write a blog to refer to.
In the prescription, choose the implant and crown to scan, also add the pre-prep option and the emergence profile option on the right side

Take the shade on the patient
In the emergence profile scan section, click on the teeth involved to enable the software to cut out the area to be scanned.
The dentist removes the healing cap and the cord on the prepped crown and scans the emergence profile and the crown prep. Proceed to the implant scan body scan option.
The software will ask you to choose the implant tooth, mark that tooth in the middle of the emergence profile area, on top of the implant in the bone. The software will cut out that emergence profile area, the dentist then screws in the scan body to hand tighten. Scan the scan body.
Proceed to send the case to the lab.
