At Schell Dental Ceramics and nutooth we are always on top of what’s happening with your digital scanners.
3Shape has announced they are updating all of their intraoral scanners to have access to a cloud-based platform. This is an option, it is not a requirement. If you choose to keep your scanner on the local host, you can opt into that option from your scanner.
Log into your Trios, go to ‘More’, ‘General’, ‘Cloud’ and choose ‘Local Host only’ to turn the cloud integration off.
If you choose to use the cloud, there are many benefits. The most anticipated allows you to scan a patient then move the scanner to another operatory for another scan.
You can then log into 3Shape Unite and have a treatment plan discussion utilizing their high-quality intraoral scan image and photos.
With the 3Shape Unite Cloud cloud-based app and web portal you can make your patient cases accessible on any device – mobile, tablet and web. Everything you do on 3Shape Unite instantly becomes available in 3Shape Unite Cloud and vice-versa. This allows you to always stay up to date on your cases, easily review your lab’s design proposals and communicate with your partners anywhere with an internet connection.
The app is currently available to download on your phone or tablet – ‘3Shape Unite Cloud’.
Step 1 – Log into your 3shape communicate account.
Step 2 – An announcement will appear with a link to log into 3shape Unite. Click that link.
Step 3 – Sign in with your 3shape account.
Step 4 – Access all of your patients scans and photos as well as cases sent to a lab or other provider.
